Faculty

Each school inside of the academy has its own faculty and teachers.

School of the Blade

• Master Bladesinger - Drongor Swiftsilver, Orcish Man, 57 years of age. The Master Bladesinger is the head of the School of the Blade, and oversees the training, curriculum and general day to day running for the school. Each year he takes one final year class to teach, much like the other higher faculty in the school, giving them an intense year long training regimen to improve their abilities. As a warrior, Drongor grew his renown in the warriors of the New Thalitcal Republic, excelling with sword, spear and shield, and takes only the students who wish to further their skills in any or all of those disciplines.
• Sergeant at Arms - Mentor, Warforged, 275 years of age. The oldest member of staff in the School of the Blade, being created and given sentience by a human inventor at the Oaklead University, whom was close friends with Headmaster Sylan'ir. Upon his death, Mentor was left a bit adrift in the world, and found his way to the friend of his creator. Sylan'ir gave the Warforged a home and offered him a steady job working as the universities caretaker, maintaining all the various equiments across the acadmey. After a few years Mentor asked to be placed in the School of the Blade exclusively, finding more enjoyment maintaining weapons and armour rather than the books and instruments of the other schools. Mentor is always avaliable to the students of the acadmey for any questions or help maintaining their equipments, and has began taking after his creators, making and inventing new weapons and equipment for the students to use.
• First Bow - Zoza Longstrider, Harengon Man, 28 years of age. One of the  schools specialist teacher, specialising in bows, crossbows and other ranged projectile weapons and tactics. Zoza hails from the Feywilds and also teachs classes on the Feywild for the School of the Pen.
• First Sword - Orrxec Acidscales, Black Dragonborn, 34 years of age. One of the schools specialist teacher, specialising in swords, double edged, single edged, curved and great swords, and the tactics around them. Orrxec began his carrer in the Polantian navy, and teachs specialised classes on naval combat and warfare to students who request it.
• First Axe - Ketnia Razeredge, Dwarven Woman, 210 years of age. One of the schools specialist teacher, specialising in axes and dwarven battle tactics around their use.
• First Spear - Jolly Snow, Tabaxi Woman, 26 years of age. One of the schools specialist teacher, specialising in spears, pikes, halberds and other polearms.
• First Hammer - Tyig Gemscrack, Half Dwarven/Half Goliath Man, 189 years of age. One of the schools specialist teacher, specialising in hammers, clubs and other blunt weapons.

All students in conjunction with learning the disciplines they choose to, are taught small blade work, and shield work; ranging from using them defensively to offensively.

Structure

The structure of the Univeristy breaks down into various schools and disciplines that are taught.

• School of the Blade - The premiere school for fighters and those wishing to improve their martial abilities, often seen as a military academy by outsiders, as students are put through the same regimentation as the Erandulian army. However, the School of the Blade do allow for more unique fighting styles to flourish than the military, leaning into the students strengths and developing their unique skills, rather than a generalised regiment to create soilders.
• School of the Song - A bard college, teaching students how to develop their creative abilities, and channel magic through them. Though the name would suggest only musicians are trained, any type of bard can find a class and teacher to develop their magic and creativity, whether it be music, dance, poetry, art, comedy, so on.
• School of the Pen - The most similar school offered by the Ash'in Academy to other universities found across Rularia, espically the Oakleaf University. Teaching history, literature, as well as arcane magic. Though, much like the School of the Blade, the magical studies taught at Ash'in instead lean into developing a mages unique talents rather than just a wizarding school to create spellcasters. 

History

Founded in the years following the Draconic Resurgence, the Ash'in Academy was created by Sylan'ir Woodsteam, a well respected teacher at the Oakleaf University in The Citadel. Sylan'ir felt that with the influx of Dragons on the plane, as well as the disruption to the natural order of magic with the seemingly overflowing Draconic magic, that more and more repercussions would come, namely the influx of monsters created by Wild Magic.

Currency

Whilst the academy uses mainly regular Rularian currency, they do however have a merit point system, wherein students over the course of a term earn merit points that they can use to purchase items from the academy stores and shops.
