The Everglade

Geography

The Everglade is a large coniferous forest, nestled inside of the basin created by the nearby mountain ranges of the Orgaren Hills, Silverrock Hills, The Weathered Slopes, The Belowing Slopes and The Crimson Peaks. These mountains that surround the forest protect it from harsh winds and storms that roll out of the Bazyak Desert or the ocean to the east. The north and south of the forest is prone to high winds, coming from the Crested Basin or the Crashing Bay, but the trees around the edges of the forest buffer the strongest gales, leaving the heart of the forest and basin calm, peaceful and sheltered.

Localized Phenomena

Moments of Harmony

The Everglade has two large rivers that run through it, the largest coming from Orgaren Lake. During moments of natural harmony, often around the equinox and solstice, the water in the river beings to glow with bioluminescent algae, causing the river to sparkle and shine like the night sky above.

Dragon's Heart

The heart of the forest is home to an ancient Green Dragon, a kind soul, who works alongside the Druids, with the Dragon, Koliir, acting as the Everglade's main protector, defending it against other Dragons who try to encompass parts of the teritory without permission, outside threats from neighbouring towns and cities, and natural threats and storms.

Fauna & Flora

The Everglade is filled with wildlife, and is one of the most densely populated regions in Erendoc for non sentient fauna. The fauna inside the Everglade acting and living alongside the Druids of Everglade, working to preserve the natural order of the forest.

Natural Resources

The forest is filled with Ironwood trees, a dense wood that resembles metal in its properties. The Ironwood being used by the Druids of Everglade as a replacement for metallic armour.
