The Librarians
The Librarians (capital "L") are an order dedicated to acquisition and preservation of knowledge, especially in the form of the written word. While heavily associated with Elisheva, this organization is not directly concerned with her worship - she is merely the head Librarian.
Structure
Under the Head Librarian, the Psychopomps.
For each library, a Librarian.
For each Librarian, Assistant Librarians.
Under the Assistant Librarians, Library Clerks.
Under the Library Clerks, mundane librarians and library clerks.
Librarians are to librarians as celestials are to priests. Their roles are different - though a Librarian can also be a librarian, a Librarian is responsible for the metaphysical concepts of their library, and the acquisition and upkeep of knowledge, including but not limited to physical books.
Librarians have supernatural powers - librarians only sometimes do.
Public Agenda
The Librarians support the creation of libraries and universities, and collect books and stories. They help fund and support writers and historians. They help regulate corruptive influences from the Shadowlands, and tend to oppose unruly undead.
Assets
Vast sums of wealth, ancient treasures, and knowledge.
History
The Librarians were originally funded and created by Elisheva's clergy, as her pet project. While intrinsically tied to Elisheva, this organization does not concern itself with faith.
The Librarians, several times in history, have opposed other organizations, religious or secular, who have sought to censor knowledge or destroy books.
Granted Divine Powers
The ability to step in and out of the Shadowlands at will.
The ability to call upon the Psychopomps, and, temporarily, manifest them on the material plane.
Access to vast amounts of mystical knowledge - Librarians tend to pick up quite a lot of magical studies.
Limited ability to directly interact with spirit books, both of individuals they are near, and as pertaining to history. This is extremely dangerous, and tends to take quite a long while and careful manipulation. The effects of this can be far-reaching and horrifying. This is extremely regulated, subject to oversight. As this can affect the past, most major uses of this power are comparable to the Wish spell.
Some quick effects Librarians can use without needing extensive editing:
Write-in: The Librarian can write themself into the story. They simply were there earlier than they arrived, and those involved know them, vaguely.
Obfuscation: The Librarian can write themselves out of the story. They were never there, or, at least, those involved have trouble recalling who they are, what they look like, or how to describe them. Someone was there. The events happened. They aren't sure who, or how.
Quick Research: The Librarian can obtain a quick summary of recent events, as well as the personal information of those involved.
