Ghost Month: The gates of the afterlife are thrown wide. Spirits of the dead are free to enter the realm of the living. Parties and festivals are thrown, loved ones are visited, spooky things happen. It's great. In the middle of it is:
Night of Hungry Ghosts - a festival in which ancestors are properly honored, the living can interact directly with the dead, and, technically, the rules about resurrection, reincarnation, minor necromancy, etc are relaxed. A little. For those who have sponsors among the dead, and who have particularly pleased the spirits of the dead, access to the Eternal Library is granted, and books may be checked out.

Elisheva filled a terrible hole in the planning of the Garden, taking over as the goddess of the dead and finally doing something about the state of mortality in the garden. Elisheva did this after she died. She blames Roshan - the patriarch of her family. Elisheva was the chosen of Roshan, but, after she died she found out the truth of the garden's afterlife.
