Material Characteristics

Shiny green crystal. Inside of the crystal hides infinite number of reflections of itself, making it opaque. 
It is also commonly found burried in dirt and when removed it is still half-covered in dirt and roots from the tree above.

Physical & Chemical Properties

This crystal is hearth of the tree. All trees are living being on Kara. Removing this crystal kills the tree it was hidden below. 

This crystal however keeps all of its properties - the crystal remains living being. It can be used for weapon and armor crafting as well as ritual vessels.

Geology & Geography

It is believed the only place that contains this type of crystals is Kara.

Life & Expiration

The average lifespan of this crystal is 1000 years when removed from the tree. Otherwise it is everlasting.

History & Usage

History

During the ancient time, Karians used these crystal to create their ritual vessels as they believed this is the correct way to communicate with nature. 

Later they found out the cost - killing the tree and after 1000 years the crystal withers. This made all mining of this crystal highly forbidden and considered high offense against Karian people. They mastered the way to work with this crystal, allowing it to preserve items made from it for longer than 1000 years. However this recipe is long lost.

This makes all items made from this crystal especially rare as they are really old and there is no way how to make new.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Every Sashi on Kara has at least one of these ancient artifacts. It is believed it also serves as symbol of heritage and it is expected that old Asashi will pass the artifact to new Asashi during ritual known as
