Curator Farfalla Rosa was one of the survivors of the Apocalypse of the Final Shot. The Apocalypse killed both the current Brer of the Rose, Dragonfly Rosa, and his prospective successor, Schmetterling Rosa, along with several other viable Brers.
The Brership therefore passed to the four-year-old great nephew of Dragonfly Rosa, Hyle Rosa. Until he was old enough to hold the position himself, Farfalla Rosa looked after Hyle, and his sister Psyche, as guardian and acted as steward in the Brership.
