Gnoll

Gnolls are monstrous Hyena-like Beastfolk that have been driven underground and now dominate the city Catacombs, which have actually been named after them. Although oppressed and maligned by the dominant species of the city, Gnolls are one of the most feared Beastfolk, having developed to ruthlessly survive at the expense of weaker creatures. Before it burned down, Gnolls were used as the muscle for Barker's Menagerie, a slavery-zoo/pet shop that sold sapient and regular animals as pets.

Variations

The Nobility have recently started breeding pygmy-gnolls to act as lap dogs for ladies at Court. These smaller gnolls have twice the aggression and half the brain-size, and spend most of their time yapping insults at each other.

Religion

Many Gnolls worship Worgoth, the Wolf at the Door under the guidance of the apocalypse oracle Princess.

In the Arts

Puppy Love, the fifteenth book of the Qu'onan the Warrior Elf series, features a uncharacteristically docile dalmatian gnoll girl as Qu'onan's female conquest for the installment. The book was written by Talitha Spice in 1258.
