Scrivener Nippers
Nippers is the former Scrivener of Elderton University Library. She was left in the Understacks after the rest of the university ascended to counteract the city's sinking.

Scrivener Bartleby: Nippers considers herself to be a sort of kinfolk of Bartleby, since they were formed to serve the same purpose. They exchange data with each other and their relationship is "genial": pleasant and friendly (although also a pun).
