In Palimpsest, a remote city surrounded on all sides by the Screaming Desert, Seafood is a scarce resource. Monopolised by the Honourable Company through its controlled Interplanar Trade Routes between Palimpsest and the West Star (Plane of Water), the Company charges a hefty Customs Fee on the import of Seafood. This means it is almost exclusively consumed by the Nobility, enjoyed as a delicacy by some of the richer commoners, and out of the price range of everyone else.
