A Sign of Dark Times 10/8

General Summary

A small party of adventurers arrived in Lakeside to get a location from Malgrim to scout out for the coming battle. They were told to make sure the roads up to Emancipation were clear and to get an updated report on what exactly was going on within the city. On their way up to Emancipation the party slowed to ensure the bridge hadn't been damaged or trapped in any way. Finding there that the drow had tied down captured citizens of the Arbour Kingdom and concealed them on the bridge, hoping that the soon to be coming armies would trample over them, giving a harsh hit to morale once they'd realized what had happened. In case their ruse was discovered, a few of the citizens had been rigged to explode on touch to kill those trying to help, which happened to be this scouting party. Thankfully they were able to dispel the magical energy of the magic item implanted in them and return the people to the safety of Xiomara before heading north. With the people helped the party continued northwards into Emancipation proper, scouting around the edges and using the cover of fog generated by Meako to scan over within the city. The party found that slaves from all over Pandora had been gathered here, including dwarves being forced to craft arms and armor for the drow giving Bombo an excuse to bring dwarven armies to bear in the battle of Emancipation. While Azim made a concerted effort to memorize all the faces of slaves taken from Abkheset so he could report to them and hopefully pull them into the fold. Their efforts were discovered before they could explore any further and they were forced to retreat and return to Malgrim, reporting everything they'd found.
