Cleaning up a mess

General Summary

With recent events in the Kingdom of Fjordhaven, the king Bombo put out a call to friends to start sorting out the dissarray of the dwarven kingdom. Tiff, Alik (disguised as a dwarf) and Meako (much to the disdain of the populus) met at the King's Respite. Prior to the meeting however, Bombo was provided with a copy of a new proposed constitution, that had passed the House of Gold, and was expected to pass the House of Stone. Bombo thanked the courier, and after getting some information on who was promoting the bill and who was against it, a dwarf known in high regard known as Cardur Bloodbender, Bombo sent the courier on his way.

After taking his friends into a private meeting room, Bombo laid out his plan to the group, which included finding out if Geraldina was murdered by Durak, find out what people think of the current political landscape in Fjordhaven, and how to get the favor of Moradin back. Bringing the body of Geraldina to ask questions, it became clear she died in the earthquake, and to her knowledge, was not directly killed by Durak. Lastly, stating Geraldina wishes to be with her ancestors, they put her body to rest.

Changing their focus, Bombo wished to know the eyes of the people. Using the power of a spell from Tiff, he started divining how the public felt about himself, outsiders, and various political leaders. As politics usually are, the answers were varied, but to Bombo's relief, there were still citizens who wish for the primary worship of Moradin to return. There were positive feelings for the swap to Abbathor, because of promises of wealth as well.

Stepping out of the magical trance that Tiff's spell put Bombo in, he enacted his next part of his plan; to figure out how to return Moradin's favor to Fjordhaven. To do this, he recommended they travel to the city of Waterdeep, in order to talk with priests who are not affected by the dark curtain that has fallen over his kingdom. After a quick planeshift and then some teleportation, the party made their way to the appropriate district, moving through the overpopulated city. Finding a shrine to Moradin, a priest gives the party instruction to find a high priest, who has left to the Citadel Felbarr. After giving a good description, Tiff teleported the party outside of the citadel towards the evening.

Staying the night at the Harsh Gauntlet Inn, the party awoke refreshed and ready to search around. Bombo, wanting to return to his roots as a dwarf, looked around the city for a way he could assist in the reconstruction efforts of the citadel. Finding a blacksmith, he lended his expertise in creation for a few hours. During this time, Meako was drafted into mining, finding the brotherhood of dwarves to be quite heartwarming, while Tiff and Alik assisted in clearing out a clan's home building. Alik assisted in identifying valuable artifacts, and Tiff assisted in reconstructing the artistic stone carvings of the clan's history. Once Bombo finished his work, he collected his friends and headed to the temple to Moradin.

Upon entering, Bombo found that he was expected, and that the high cleric was waiting for him in the office, but asked to speak to him alone. Addressing Bombo as last of his name, he talked through Moradin's displeasure with his recent decisions. Chastising him for his lack of belief of the heartiness and innovation of the dwarves and acting out of fear instead of faith. He explained to get the favor of Moradin again, he must restore the primary worship of Moradin within his kingdom, and do so through righteous means and not through brash action. Bombo requested communion with Moradin and while he was not able to do so directly, the high cleric petitioned Moradin on his behalf. After a ritual a casting of commune, the cleric asked questions on Bombo's behalf on how to best run the nation. Once the communion ended, the high cleric bid the best of luck to Bombo, giving him a reminder of the dogma of Moradin.

Reuniting with his party, Tiff planeshifts the rest of them to party to Pandora, remaining behind to work on her paperwork before teleporting to the portal in Waterdeep. Alik, Meako and Bombo finding themselves in the cold north, quickly teleport to Fjordhaven before frostbite could set in. Bombo now reinvigored, says his goodbyes as each of the adventurers go their separate ways.
