Ending the Unrest
General Summary
Terri put out a call for help to find someone to act as a Goblinhold's Royal Warden. Only Arc showed up to help. After a few hours of asking around town, they eventually were pointed to the mines to talk to a taskmaster. When they arrived, Terri realized she had met the taskmaster before. He was the Bugbear who had dragged a prisoner into the Council meeting to let them know that the mines had been raided.
She learned that his name is Thurk. He said he might be willing to help, but he needed her to take care of a problem of his first. A relatively new mine shaft had become a problem, because a monster was killing the miners. He warned them to be careful, as the miners were attacked before they could put in supports. Arc worried that the sound of his gun going off would cause a cave-in, so they headed back to town to get Oil of Silence. Heading back into the mine, they decided to move stealthily. Unfortunately, they worried so much about stealth, they forgot to look around. Rounding a bend, Terri had a large creature drop upon her with a roar, hitting her several times. The fight was short, with Arc felling the beast with a magical blast from his gun.
Unfortunately, the creature roared loudly in death, causing the ceiling to collapse on Arc. Terri raced to dig him out and found an unconscious but still barely alive Arc. Forcing a potion down his throat, they dug their way out and found Thurk and a bunch of goblins running with shovels to dig them out. Terri presented the head and Thurk agreed that he could help the council. As a condition though, he demanded that they do something about meeting in the tavern.
