Expanding our borders Explore for Draconia hexes EE53 & FF54
General Summary
Prim and her friends Covak, Dana and AM Kobold decided it was time to go and explore for the kingdom of Draconia again. The group met in Arbour and spent some time deciding whether to go straight to the plains or stop in Draconia first. While they were about to walk out of the gates they were stopped by a courier who gave each person in the party a bouquet of flowers. After looking over the flowers for a moment, the party realized that they conveyed a message. Using their wits in linguistics and their knowledge of nature and nobility, the party was able to figure out for the most part what the message meant and who sent it to them. Covak recognized that the bouquets were wrapped in paper marked by the family emblem of Sir Hendrix Wenceslas.
After learning of the message and who sent it, the group decided to head to the villa of Sir Hendrix Wenceslas to see what he really wanted. Upon arriving, they were quietly let into his gardens where he told them how he'd lost his family emblem while on a trip to the plains. Sir Hendrix requested that the party go out and find it and bring it back to him to restore his honor and pride.
Knowing what they needed to do and having solved the mystery of the bouquets, the party set out to explore the plains. During the first day the party came upon a pond that was surrounded by long grass and trees. Having encountered creatures in the water, they cautiously made their way to the water. Covak threw a stone in and two large glacier toads came out. After some quick work with his Guisarme, Covak and the party easily took out the frogs with only taking some minor cold damage. Continuing on in the plains, the party noticed a wisp of smoke in the distance and decided to see what was there. They came upon a camp of frost giants and a captured Saumen Kar. Sneaking up on them, the party got into place and sprung their trap. Covak quickly dispatched one of them while Prim was holding her own against another while trying to free the Saumen Kar. the party using their wits were able to overpower the giants and free the creature who called himself Solomon Voss. The group debated inviting him to Draconia and finally settled on allowing him to come but Solomon chose to go and look for his family to make sure they were safe. Prim and Covak gave him a piece of parchment to show to anyone from Draconia should he run into trouble.
On the second day the party woke up to a medium fog and continued on. They came to a snow covered area and were attacked by a frost worm. Unsure how to affect it while burrowed, the group waited patiently for it to come out of the ground. When it did, Covak dive bombed it but wasn't strong enough to take it out in one blow. The creature responded by blowing a cone of cold at the party and Kobold used his divine abilities to buff the group and heal himself before the creature exploded in frozen ichor after Covak finished the job. Continuing on, the party came to the last part of the plains they were exploring where they found a number of skeletons lying in the field covered in snow. Upon investigating, the group was beset by some Ankheg's and two Ankhrav Queens. The monsters were no match for the group however and when Prim severed the head of the final queen, the family emblem of Sir Hendrix, spilled out of its stomach allowing the group to return to Draconia.
