Exploration game - Kingdom of Fjordhaven - RR60
General Summary
The party, consisting of Azim, Alik and Duurk gathered at King Bombo's court to do some exploration to expand his kingdom, with King Bombo himself. Hitting the road, they were able to travel to Stag’s Ballad without any real complications, outside of some small rainfall. Spending the night at Bombo’s villa, they started off in the direction of the untaken lands.
After a few hours of travel, the party found themselves in a gorge, riddled in traps. After a few run ins with pit traps from Bombo, Duurk paved the way forward, at the cost of the life of his horse. Immediately after however, they were confronted by a pair of undead centaurs, firing large firearms into the party. After a few lucky shots, the party overwhelmed the undead, causing them to fall. Shortly after, a third centaur approached, however wishing to speak.
This ghast was named Talthir and after apologizing to the party, asked why they were there in territory outside of Bombo’s kingdom. Explaining they were looking to expand their borders, Thalthir explained that his people had made camp nearby, and chose the location to be away from sovereignty but outside of kingdom borders, as most people despise the undead. He offered to take them to The Speaker, who may be willing to make a deal with the king after the party promised not to murderhobo everyone in sight.
Traveling a few hours, the party came to the camp of the ghouls and ghasts. Leaving the party to socialize around the camp, Thalthir retrieved The Speaker, a previously human looking ghast, who told Bombo very bluntly they did not wish to leave and were breaking no laws by being there. Azim, acting as a mediator, offered the group a different place to live, one where they would not have to worry about kingdoms encroaching on their territory. After some consideration, The Speaker went and spoke with the chieftain of group. She returned with a challenge. Should they be able to best him in combat, the party versus himself, he will agree to leave. However, should he win, they get to stay. And also, they get to eat Alik’s leg… Alik’s choice of which one.
The party agreed, and they took the fight outside the camp as to not cause any unnecessary collateral damage. The party got their first real look at the chieftain, a deaf mummy-like half orc who wielded a large hammer and goes by the name of Brick. The fight ended up being a bit more than what the party expected to handle, however after a hard-fought victory was able to bring the mummy lord to his knees. The ghasts honored their end of the deal, and promised that after their leader reformed, they would start packing up to leave. Azim offered to take them to their place in Tetrodora, which the happily agreed.
Successful in their mission, the party went their separate ways.
