Fey Friend Finding

General Summary

Covak, Dana and Alastari was at the flame of the forest inn, getting ready to take on trip to the emerald spire, however due to unforseen circumstances this trip had got cancelled now with nothing to do, they sat there and chatted a bit, until Prim came flying in saying she heard rumors of a fey crossing up north from xiomara, and she wanted to go check it, with nothing else to do and ready for a trip anyway the 3 agreed to help her, before they got on their way, Rufus approached them and got robbed into the trip with them aswell. they travled towards north on foot and as the sun was setting they decide to setup camp in a clearing, before they got into the really snowy parts, Covak was prepared and had brought the wondrous experdition pavalion, while he was setting that up the others scouted the clearing to make sure there weren't dangerous hazards around, Prim found a rather large ant mount, and as the curious fey she was flew closer to get a look this happended to annoy the ants which came swarming out to attack, Prim being in the sky unreachable they ran towards the closest person on the ground Alastari, the party fought valiently throwing several acid flask and alchemical ice at the thing but the ants where quick on thier feat and dodge most of that. Alastari had gotten sick by the ants crawling over him and bitting, but quickly got out and as soon as he had gotten them off began firing of spells freezing or send flying good portions of them, it was also here Rufus in a flash of heroic inspiration thought what if he did a really low swipe quick surely that should take out a bunch of ants, and he was right with a swipe quick he send ants flying all over the place and crushed a bunch, the other took notice of this and soon followed in thier own way, until they had taken enough of them out that the rest simply scattered. they then went to sleep, with Dana taking first watch but even with danas amazing perception she did not notice the intruder sneaking into the tent, first stealing the shadow of Covak who was sleeping in the main area, who woke up confused, and turned on the light in the main area, soon after Rufus had his shadow stolen and gotten woken up aswell, being considerably louder about it, waking up the last two, the intruder quickly left, however the party spend quite some time looking for said intruder before realizing it was gone and even more time trying to figure out what had happend to Rufus's and Covak's shadow, one of them had heard of certain wondrous grimora that could steal the shadow of people. the party now much more viligent sleeped with the lights on and didn't get attacked more that night.
arriving at their destination a cave, Dana spotted two winter wolfs trying to sneak up on them, Alastari made one fall asleep while the rest dealt with the other one seeing it couldn't win it tried begging for its life apolgezing, explaining it was simply becuase of hunger so the party offered them both to come with them back to xiomara menagerie they be free to come and go as they please and they be provided the food they need, and with Dana promise of steak and the bribe of jerky from Prim they quickly agreed, which hungery wolf wouldn't jump at the chance of free good food over death. the party wanted to check the cave close by first and had the wolfs keep watch, as they explored, however their noses and perception wasn't good enough, and once the party was deep enough in a explosion could be heard, as someone had collasped the entrance, before they could check it a shadowy Rufus and Covak came into sight clearly ready to fight, soon after a shadow joined in and lastly the shadowdancer assassin and yesterdays intruder Nalatar jumped out from the shadows with a flurry of her shadowy kukri's. the party soon realised the shadowy copies were only partialy real and their attacks barly hurt them and as such focused on Nalatar, with Covak tripping her over and over again, she was soon defeated, not even scarifcing her daggers could save her life in the end. the party then took the black grimora unsure of how to release the shadows, they destoryed the book hooping that would set the shadows stored in it free to return to rightful owners.
