Finding a Hive
General Summary
Kalvin noticed an adventure that was on the board and decided to gather a group of adventurers to go with him. Meeting him in the city of Xiomara was Slither, Daniel, and Titus. The party took some time to meet together because Kalvin had forgotten to post a meeting place. Once they finally found each other, they traveled to the city of Pygmy Village. Upon arriving they immediately went into a cookie shop looking for the writer of the board post. Instead of finding him, they were given a mystery to solve in the gift that was a bouquet of flowers. After some background knowledge from Daniel, Slither and Titus were able to figure out the riddle of the language of flowers and were directed to meet the mysterious board writer. The party went out of the shop to find Hendrix Wenceslaus. After meeting him, they learned that he was searching for some large bee larvae and royal jelly up north in Druid's Rest. With their orders, they spent the night in Pygmy and then traveled north to the forest.
During their travels on the road, Kalvin noticed a large line of ants crossing the path. Before Daniel could explain what they were though, Titus began stomping on them and cursing them causing them to swarm him. During this fight, he contracted the disease Boot Soup. Quick thinking from Slither quickly dispersed the swarm though.
A couple days later, the party arrived at the beehive to find a bear attacking it. Daniel quickly went into action firing off four arrows before anyone else reacted. The beast killed a giant bee before turning on the group and Kalvin took the final blow and killed it.
Having taken out the initial threat, the party went into the hive using a pheromone to mask their presence. They quickly found that it was stifling inside and pitch black. Slither was able to see with darkvision and helped the others through using some arrows with continual flame cast on it. They also learned that getting too close to the walls would make them stuck. After spending some time trying to navigate with the help of Kalvin, they moved on to the next part of the Hive which was a giant pool of honey. Slither fell in a couple times and took some time to get out while Titus was easily able to get across. Daniel rode Kalvin's shoulders as he forded his way though.
Having gotten past the giant pool of honey, the group made their way to the nursery of the giant bee hive. There, they found several pounds of royal jelly as well as the bee larvae they needed. Kalvin was the first to try to pick one up and was immediately attacked by the queen. Not wanting to kill or hurt her, the party grabbed what they needed and ran but not before Daniel almost took a lethal amount of poison from the bee's sting. Titus would also have trouble from a bad case of Boot Soup during their journey home but was eventually able to overcome it. Once in Draconia, the party met up with Sir Hendrix Wenceslaus and delivered the bees and jelly to him so he could plant his gardens.
