Hobgoblin Nation Exploration Edict - R6 Verdant Expanse
General Summary
Azim and Milo decided to do some exporation on behalf of the Hobgoblin Nation. Travelling first to Stag's Ballad, they hired a sellsword to help them, named Sir Ashimar and then managed to get a magical ride to the Lakeside teleportation grounds. When they arrived, a hobgoblin guard asked their business in Lakeside. Informing him that they had come to fulfill an exploration edict, he happily directed them to the local government offices. There they learned firsthand the organizational prowess of the hobgoblins. They were directed to a lineup for the Department of Agriculture. There they were issued a license for the exploration of new lands. However, since the area they were going to explore was in the mountains, they were required to take that license to the Departments of Minerals to be approved and stamped.
When this was all done, they rested for the night and left to explore in the morning. The first day they travelled to the area and explored around until they found a suitable cave to use as a base camp. That being done, they camped there for the night. With nothing disturbing their sleep, they went out exploring in the stormy weather. Luckily, they were on the north side of the mountains, meaning the wind was significantly less than it was in The Havens. While exploring, they were attacked by a large winged lizard called. They had some difficulty killing it, but after doing so they found its nest and salvaged two eggs from it. Hoping the eggs would sell well in the black market, they took them along and returned to their base camp.
With the next night passign quietly, they went out to explore for another day. A few hours later they were attacked by a massive bird, wreathed in storm and lightning. This bird nearly finished them. However, through sheer luck, grit and determination, they managed to finally fell it. The rest of their exploration passed quietly. After exploring the region they returned to Lakeside to collect their reward. Paying off Sir Ashimar they headed back to the Department of Agriculture. There they reported the completion of the edict, showing a feather from the bird as proof. This was noted on a requisition form, which they then took to the Revenue Agency which keeps its offices in the castle. There they finally received their gold. From there they travelled to Xiomara so that they could brag of their exploits with fellow adventurers.
