Personal: Finding A Friend
General Summary
Azim had put out a post asking for aid in looking for a more powerful friend to aid him in future battles, specficcaly a dragon to ride. only Bullgup answeared this call.
they meet at the crossroads tavern in Traders Cusp cusp, just to travel to Fjordhaven where Bullgup just came from, to take the portal up north.
where Azim tried to find out where to find dragons to ride, he was simply pointed towards Drake's Harbour. he found a person here to ask, but he simply got laughed at when he said he wanted a true dragon, but he did found out that the was a dragonkin in the mountains north west of the city. traveling slowly trough the wild towards it the party ran into a pair of dire tigers, Azim charged the one they managed to spot, and dealt quite the blow, and doged all the attack from this one, however the other pounced him from behind graplling him and hurting him badly, he stayed grappled most of the fight only getting out momentaily just to be graplled again, only survivng due to his divine power, before pleading to his god which diamensioned door him away. Bullgup who had transformed into a saltwater croc did quite a bit a of damage to one of the tigers, enough to make it retreat with the azim's camel that it had killed. but he flew off with gribbit once azim had been teleported away.
the next day the 2 ran into a pair of winter wolfs, they entangled them but managed to talk things out and no one had to die.
a day or so later they found a cave in the mountain range with a large stone door, a bit after they approached it a blue dragonkin landed behind them asking if they were here to take the trials. after exchanging questions, Azim decide to take it, while Bullgup went with the dragonkin to observe him go trough them.
there were 8 trials: trial of failing, trial of ascending, trial of courage, trial of strength, trial of wealth, trial of power, trial of knowledge and trial of worth.
the first one was simply a pit trap he had to survive the fall off, easy ring of feather falling, next he had to outrun raising lava and get out of the 500ft tall tower before being burned alive. next he came face to face with a anceint red dragon or so it seemed, but after a few rounds of combat, he found out it was simply a wizard hiding inside the illusion of one. next he had to lift a heavy door. next was the trial of wealth, he had to donate some of his wealth to the dragonkin, one of 4 doors would open depending on the amount, he donated quite a bit and got the top door, which lead to the trial of power, where he had to defeat a living spell specficcaly a glimmerfire. next was the trial of knowledge where he had to answear 4 riddles in short time or be smushed between a the wall approaching from behind and the wall of force blocking his way, every time he answeared one he got a bit more time, he managed to answear them all. and get to the final trial of worth, he simply had to fight the dragonkin one on one and impress him, losing and wining was of no concern he had to impress him, which he did.
the dragonkin Aldrik agreed to come with him to traders cusp to observe him for some time to decide weather he truly worthy of being his new rider.
