Storybook Ending: The Unlikely Romance of Owls and Bears
General Summary
Lorenzo De Leur, Crik Crak , Cedric and Arcturus met together at the Flame of the Forest Inn. They travelled to The Grand Library in order to find out where to go to find one of the books which were stolen. Having learned what direction they needed to travel to find the imp, they left to go find it. After nearly a day of searching they found the imp waiting for them on the mountain road which once went through Goblinhold. Soon after finding the imp, it attacked them, but Arcturus very quickly put it down.
When the imp died, it exploded in flame. The book, when touched, floated up in the air and a voice began to tell a story about the king of the owls, long before the time of elves and men. All of a sudden, a bright flash of light burst from the book and the party found themselves standing on a forest path, instead of the mountain road they had been on. The voice continued to recite the story and the party continued down the path.
They came to a clearing, where they saw an owl with a crown next to a black bear. The owl told the black bear to flee and then attacked the party. The owl king did not last too long, though he was not immediately killed by the party. Crik Crak stabilized him and Arcturus tied him up. Suddenly, a green light flashed and the party found the owl king on the opposite side of the clearing, once again telling the bear to flee while he tried to kill the party. The fight happened again, but this time they made sure the owl king was dead.
Following the direction where the bear went, the party found her in front of a small cave. She charged the party, seeking revenge for the owl king. She didn't last long against the party either and the party made sure she was dead as well. At her death, an owlbear came out of the woods seeking revenge for its dead parents. When the party killed the owlbear, they heard the voice conclude the story, then they were transported back to the mountain road they found the book on. They brought the book back to The Grand Library, where they received their reward. They then all travelled back to Xiomara.
