The Arbour Kingdom Council - Kythorn 1374
General Summary
Raffyr the Just gathered the leaders of Xiomara to the Ashen Keep Keep war room for their monthly “Flower Time” gathering.
Upkeep
The kingdom is dealing with some unrest among its citizens. However, Warden Rico assured the council that he was actively working to bring that down and had already achieved some peace. The kingdom continues to provide any necessary resources to its armies and citizens.
Raffyr then opened up the meeting for “circle time,” hearing a report from each of his leaders. All reports were good but Arc and Egon got into a bit of an argument about how not everyone can learn to use magic, resulting in both of them exiting the meeting somewhat abruptly (players had other obligations).
Edict
The council welcomed two new members: Eater of the Wind and Chill in the Air as the General and Royal Enforcer, respectively. Land was claimed and the kingdom grew in size (milestone of 11 hexes).
The council next focused on making improvements. A fishery was built in the land occupied by the Pygmy Village village as well as a house and a trade shop. Raffyr suggested building a fort toward the northern edge of the kingdom. The new general agreed with this “sound idea,” almost giving Rico a heart attack. Tiff pointed out that some of her new teachers have had a hard time finding their way into the city and so construction on a road that will eventually stretch between Xiomara and Honshu has begun. Lastly, the wall around the city was finished.
The council unanimously agreed to bring on an army of drake riders naming them the Legion of the Drakes.
Income
The treasury grew well and no treasure was taken or deposited by the council. They briefly discussed any repercussions for next month’s meeting because of the absence of their treasurer this month.
Event - [A Noble Visit]
The last half of their week in council had them unexpectedly dealing with visiting nobles from Faerun. Representatives of several houses arrived in the city with a desire to speak with the king and his leaders about the possibility of hosting a gambling tournament in Xiomara.
Raffyr and his council did their very best to put on a proper show of leadership, housing most of the nobles in Anthony’s Noble Villa for the duration of their stay. Houses Silverthorne and Adarbrent were honored with escorts from the Legion of the Drakes. Being somewhat disappointed in House Dragelarthd, the house was given a less impressive escort of town guards. House Evanweaver significantly disappointed the council and were politely encouraged to leave town. They were escorted by the Legion of the Drakes to Honshu.
