The Bane of the Desert
General Summary
Nightfall travelled to Trader's Cusp to meet up with Nexus, an old man with a man servant to help him. They were interested in learning more about this so-called 'Bane of the Desert' spoken of in the Sandswept Desert. Going out on the streets, they spoke to locals to gather what information they could, which led them to Raqib. In Raqib, they went to The Oasis Inn and spoke to a man named Rimiq Al-Kazir, a blind, former caravan guard whose face is covered in awful scars. After giving him a gold piece, he was happy to ramble on about his story and answer all their questions. Unfortunately, neither Nexus nor Nightfall were able to figure out what this creature was, based on Rimiq's descriptions.
Leaving the inn, they spoke to some guardsmen, who informed them of the bounty the Pharoah was offering on the creature, as well as its General location. Armed with more information, they took rooms at the inn and travelled to the northern part of the desert the following day. Upon arrival, they fought a pair of huge spider-like creatures, dispatching them without too much trouble. They paused just outside the cave to cast protection spells, at which point Nexus revealed himself to be Nihilus in disguise. Once inside the cave, they faced off against the mighty beast. But, thanks to their careful, magical preparations, the beast was not nearly as troublesome as they were expecting.
