The Dead Rise! - Lakeside

General Summary

With the new threat of legions of the dead rising in the city of Lakeside, Zephyr gathered willing allies to go and relieve the city. Prim and AM Kobold hopped through the new portal between Silver City and Xiomara to go help. Making their way to Zephyr's ship at the docks, they were ambushed by powerful skeletons. In one volley of arrows, Prim was nearly killed. After a harrowing fight, where most of the adventurers were nearly killed, they finally killed the skeletons and made their escape to Lakeside.
As they neared the city of Lakeside, they could see columns of smoke rising from the city, with a dull roar of combat echoing across the water. Pulling toward the docks, their ship was hit by two pots of alchemical fire shot from catapults in the city. As the crew rushed to put out fires, they pulled into the docks, fighting skeletal archers on the docks themselves. Finally clearing the docks and with the fires put out, Zephyr, Lucky, Prim and AM Kobold moved further into the city.
Soon after moving into the buildings of the city, they came across a small group of hobgoblin soldiers standing against waves of zombies while protecting citizens of Lakeside. The party moved to assist, easily destroying the zombies. As they were turning to check on those they stopped to aid, they were attacked by terrifying abominations of bone and tongue. Zephyr was paralyzed, but the rest of the party managed to destroy this new threat.
Escorting the survivors to the castle, they found the castle under siege. They leaped into battle, hitting the attackers from behind. Between the party and the massive guulvorg blocking the entrance to the castle, they destroyed the attackers. They spoke briefly to the guulvorg, which refused to allow them entrance to the castle. As they spoke, Commander Malgrim himself approached the gate to speak to them. He thanked them for their service, and asked them to clear out a threat that had invaded the barracks next to the castle. He told them that the dead had taken control of catapults there and were pelting the castle and any approaching ships from there. Prim asked if her services would be enough to clear her bounty from her. Malgrim said he would reduce the amount.
The party moved to the barracks, dodging shots from the catapults as they came. Pulling himself up on the wall, Lucky bravely fought all the undead while his party made their way up the wall. With all on the walls, they could see a veritable horde of burning skeletons standing at attention in the courtyard. Luckly threw himself into the midst of them. As they rushed to kill him, he stretched out his rubbery arms and become a living whirlwind, tearing apart almost all of them in seconds. With the threat finally cleared the party left the city, with some room to breath, to go back to Xiomara and Silver City.
