The Emerald Spire - Return to Level 14: The Throne of Azlant

General Summary

It was time. A deal was made and broken, and Nihilus had a new plan for the occupants of the 14th floor of the Emerald Spire. Gathering together a few of the exclusive group he trusted Nihilus prepared for the journey to the spire. The most dangerous of which was to prepare what he hoped to sacrifice once inside. With the aid of a somewhat bewildered cleric of Lathander visiting the The Sovereignty, he removed the artifact he had claimed within the 14th floor from his person and only just managed to survive the ordeal. A few words were exchanged with the cleric, the Sovereign managing to convince him there was a dire need of help from the church to save Fjordhaven from its council of secret werewolves. After a promise of aid Nihilus and his group set out towards the Emerald Spire. Any questions by those running the spire were quickly silenced by the Sovereign as the group paid their fees and were allowed inside. Once inside they walked with a purpose towards the throne room he'd left untouched on his last visit. A terse and somewhat confusing conversation ended with a revelation that their deal had not been broken, but Nihilus'' 'heart' had already decided the lich's fate. A swift battle ensued, leaving what once could have been a valuable ally a pile of ash on the ground. Now moving to the room which reached out above a pit to the abyss Nihilus called forth the Demon Lord who claimed this domain as his own. Choosing to honor their deal, casting away the great artifact into the abyss in exchange for a wish. With his resolve steadied, Nihilus made his wish...
