The Emerald Spire: Shrine of the Awakener, March 29, 2022
General Summary
Meako, Prim Celeb and Kazumar gathered together to visit The Emerald Spire. When they arrived at the usual hilltop, they found that Abernard was no longer there. Instead, a goblin shepherd was tending a flock of sheep. After looking around for a bit, Meako noticed the telltale beam of green light to the south east. Travelling there, they found that Abernard and Smaragdus had moved camp because of the encroaching goblin nation.
After paying their entry fees, the party entered the Shrine of the Awakener within The Emerald Spire. Finding themselves in a room full of candles, the party move hesitantly. If they approached, the candles brightned. Kazumar used detect magic and learned of one spell on the candles, but couldn't identify the other one. The party learned of the other one when Meako got too close and the room exploded into fire.
Past this room they came to a locked door, which, after three tries, they managed to batter down using one of the candle stands. One entering that room, they were attacked by snake people. After finding some disgusting rooms, they came to one where a snake skeleton with a humanoid head attacked them. Meako made short work of it and they continued. They found a salamander forging weapons in an extremely hot room. He yelled at them to get out of his workshop and at first they complied. Then they barged back in and killed him.
Finding a prison, they killed the jailors and Prim murdered a helpless, beaten and tortured prisoner without even trying to talk to him first. The party displayed much shock and dismay at her action. At this point Kazumar decided to go harvest body parts from the Salamander to be used later to make something. Rounding a bend in the hallway, they came to a room full of statues. Displaying her usual impetuous nature, Prim counted to 10 before opening a pair of large double doors, whil Meako found a secret door and opened it. Here the party almost split, but Meako decided to join them in the massive temple-like room Prim had opened up. There a snake creature asked Prim to swear allegiance to Kro-akoth, which she claimed she would do, but the snake creature saw through her lie and attacked. After a tough fight, the party went back to explore the secret passage Meako had discovered. There they fought another snake person and his pet snake. Having won that fight, they gathered all the loot they could find and exited the spire.
Back in camp, they shared their findings with Abernard and made their way back to Fjordhaven to use the portal back to Xiomara.
