All eyes were on Empress Prim and her companions at the annual Ivory Ball when she showed up wearing the latest styles of Haruka Nightfall; owner and proprietor of Nightfall Clothing and Spellcasting in the city of Xiomara. Announced by part of her entourage, a local blacksmith by the name of Necthan Delonesh grabbed everybody’s attention by setting himself on fire as did the little grippli who goes by the name of Bullgup and was seen riding on a giant frog across the dance floor! The Empress stated to multiple party goers that she was just there for the festivities and wanted to enjoy a ball. However, some people are speculating that there may have been something more at play. Some unnamed sources stated she’s going into business with a young upstart Hendris Wenceslaus who was also new to the ball this year and trying to sell his honey products. One party goer even said they heard her speaking to him about potentially having a position available. Others believed her group was there trying to obtain the secret Trade Show documents that were entrusted to several of the guests at the party.
During the festivities, Haruka Nightfall and a young merchant named Gordon took the dance floor as they performed a stunning waltz that drew multiple denizens from the outer planes to come and enjoy their performance. Some sources are saying that Gordon was even offered the chance to travel the planes and dance for the gods themselves.
Another strange occurrence happened when one of the partygoers Percival suddenly divorced his wife of 15 years after suddenly becoming disgusted with her and all other women after the party. We’ve been unable to get into contact with him or his wife for comment but our sources say she’s devastated.
We were able to get several people’s comments after the party:
“Parties like these are all about who you know. Little did the other merchants know that I had ties to the Empress and was able to make a deal for some fey bread and bubblegum. You can’t get more exotic than those!” -Seraph, dealer of spices and exotic ingredients
“Haruka, The Empress, and Bullgup were so kind to me. I spilled a glass of wine on my dress and they were able to take a potential disaster and turn it into something great. Empress Prim even convinced me to take my gem trade up to the Silver City which I've agreed to.” - Eleanor
