The Kingdom of Fjordhaven Council - Flamerule 1374
General Summary
Bombo Stonebone the 69th called his council together to discuss the affairs of The Kingdom of Fjordhaven! The war room of Bombos Academy was prepped with cushy chairs and lots of food. Notlob regrettably forgot the candied sausage, Savin snubbed his nose at the spread declaring he “only eats Missus Blodwen’s food” and Fosco ate just about his weight in pies and stew. The weather took a turn for the worse as the temperature reached about 92 degrees that day. With a thunderous fart, Bombo called the meeting to order.
Upkeep
What little unrest existed within the kingdom, Bombo was able to see that done away with. Savin stepped forward as Fjordhaven Royal Enforcer to aid Bombo, realized it was unneeded and instead saw more gold added to the treasury. The citizens were provided the necessary resources for their continued comfort.
Edict
The heat continued to rise, causing anyone outside to take precautions. Inside, the temperature began to make everyone uncomfortable. Fosco avoided sitting next to Savin, which Savin found confusing. The kingdom was expanded by taking on more territory to the north of Stag's Redoubt. That land was improved with a farm focused on the harvest of syrup from the maple trees there. Portions of Mountboon path were upgraded to roads and a moat was added to the northern and southern sides of Stag's Redoubt. The council saw fit to recruit an army of divine casters as a way to defend themselves against any undead horde that may attack from the west. No edicts were issued this month as the recruitment of a new army saw the treasury depleted, almost giving Errel Jodan, the treasurer, a panic attack. In an attempt to calm her, Bombo referred to Errel Jodan as a “sir” only making matters worse.
Income
By this time of the week, the heat had begun to make the inside of buildings feel like an oven. Savin, confident that he could fix it, cast Control Weather, and brought things back within normal parameters, at least for a day. To Errel Jodan’s joy, council members contributed personal funds to the treasury and taxes were collected, replenishing the kingdom’s coffers almost back to what they were at the beginning of the week.
Event
The heat continued to increase to an almost unbearable temperature near the end of the week. A local farmer, in fear of losing his crop of parsnips, requested help from the council in harvesting his crop earlier than planned. The council rolled up their sleeves and set to pulling up parsnips until Savin got tired of doing actual work and cast Move Earth to see the job completed quickly. As the week came to a close, Moradin saw fit to bless the kingdom with good weather and the sea breeze picked up bringing the temperature down to a nice 75 degrees with clear skies.
Kingdom Notes: Good weather raises spirits and productivity - Economy, Loyalty, and Productivity increase by 2 until the next Event phase. Stats for the new army are inputted as comments in the kingdom sheet.
