The Plague Bearers Have Been Spotted! - Drake's Harbour
General Summary
Hearing about the people spreading the plague in Arbour, a group of the council decided to take action and stop the spreaders of this plague. meeting at Nightfall's tower, the party decided to travel first to Drake's Harbor and work their way backwards to find the traveling plague bearers.
Once they arrived, however, the plague has already started to spread to Drake's Harbor. The guard at the gate was checking people for syptoms, and had mentioned that he had quarentined a few members to a nearby evacuated home, as currently are quite sick. After some brainstorming, Tiff and Nightfall brainstormed up a system for setting up a temporary holding area for people coming into the city, separated from other traveling groups to verify if anyone is sick. Raffyr and Tiff called in help from Xiomara to help facilitate curing and detecting those infected. While this was going on, Rico and Meako gathered information from the guards, finding out that a caravan of people left the city in order to track down the bearers. They get word that a caravan of people headed east, fleeing the city. Following on the lead, the party collects together and heads out to follow where this caravan may have gone.
They first stop at the newly established city of Fioritura, and speak with the guards in the city. The nervous new guard starts telling them about the city, though no infected have made their way there. After some brief instruction to the guard, they backtrack, and start attempting to looking for tracks for the caravan. Finally allowing the ranger, Meako, to do what he is best at, they easily track down the direction they are moving.
As they approach, they notice two individuals, wearing plague masks, approach the party. The tell them to hault, they are the guards of a group of people fleeing the plague, and do not wish to risk infection. A small back and forth starts as Raffyr asks about their purpose, though eventually Tiff and Raffyr were able to sus out they were the ones spreading the plague and attack. Though the fight ended quickly, it was not without some difficulties, forcing the contingency of Raffyr's ioun stone to trigger before being healed by Tiff. With Raffyr back on his feet, Meako, Rico and Raffyr quickly take care of the riders.
The party only got a few moments however before the caravan showed up, accompanied by some additional riders who upon seeing their allies dead, attacked the party. A few riders on horseback were able to get in a few attacks, dropping Rico and freezing Tiff, before Raffyr, Meako and Nightfall were able to finish them off. After being freed from the icy tomb one of the riders gave her, Tiff healed the party up and helped them recover from their injuries. The plague bearer's lives ended, they verified no one was currently carrying the plague before sending them back to Drake's Harbor.
Returning to Xiomara, the party attempted to confront Castien, however as they approached he vanished in thin air. Each member then returned to their individual homes, waiting for the next thing that comes.
