Thunder and Fire
General Summary
Crik Crak had heard that a thunderbird and a phoenix lived on the continent of The Havens and wanted to find more information on them. Joining him in his quest were Slither, Kalvin, and Titus who would try to assist him. They started their quest in the city of Xiomara and were going to try to find some information in a library when Crik Crak noticed a raven sitting perched on a nearby tree calling to him to "Come Follow!" Slightly annoyed but not wanting to let a poor bird go unhelped, Crik Crak and the company chose to follow the bird through the streets of Xiomara eventually finding themselves going through portal to the city of Fjordhaven.
After a little more following the raven finally stopped at an airship docked at the Fjordhaven docks and turned into none other than Beaker the sylph researcher. The sylph man offered information on the birds Crik Crak was seeking and more in exchange for helping him to do some research on the Elemental Plane of Air. The party agreed after Crik Crak had Beaker swear on his deity that he was treating them truthfully. With agreements made, the party took some time to prepare before leaving later that afternoon.
The journey was more than a few days and the party encountered many obstacles. Slither helped to defeat a bat swarm using alchemist fire and the entire group was able to use their diplomacy skills with a pair of air elemental children that were playing with a little girl who had risen into the sky on a pair of balloons. Later the party was unable to recognize a patch of bad air in the Plane of Air and ended up becoming fatigued after spending a few hours flying in it. The party's downfall wasn't until they were attacked by a giant stag beetle. Unable to discern it's weaknesses early on, the stag beetle took out the group one by one starting with Kalvin, then moving onto Crik Crak, Slither, and finally Titus. The group fought with bravery but were unable to best this foul monster. The last images the group saw was the rest of the crew being overwhelmed by smaller stag beetles and Beaker flying off from the ship trying to escape for his life.
