To Sea
General Summary
Lorenzo wanted to explore to the west. He was joined by Kivi, Cedric and Polug. They hired a ship in Xiomara, the Cornered Rat, and at the advice of Captain Whiskers, they sailed up the coast to avoid privateers hired by the Hobgoblin Nation. After a day of sailing up the coast, they cut strait west, sailing for days. At one point they were attacked by a bunch of grindylows, but they managed to sweep them off the deck without issue.
After a little over a week of sailing, they finally found land. It was cold tundra, without much feature. They decided to start sailing along the coast to get a sense of the size of the land. After another day of sailing, they were driven away from shore by a white dragon, which froze their rigging (killing the man in the crows' nest) and blowing them away from shore. Deciding that they did not want to return to where they met the dragon, they sailed north. They were blown off course again by a sudden storm, but after a day were able to resume their journey north. They travelled north long enough that they began to suffer from the cold, so they turned south again, aiming to the south west which led them to another piece of land. However, they were chased away from that land by hostile ships. They decided to find warmer waters and sailed south east to avoid angering the dragon again.
They eventually found a peninsula filled with pillars of rock the size of mountains. Following it around they came back to frozen tundra. They were again driven off by a white dragon, so they headed south and east, finding another island. The first sight of this island included the ruins of a city. They almost got off the ship to explore, but decided to circumnavigate the island first. They found multiple other cities around the coast of the island, and finally disembarking at the most northern ruins.
Exploring the ruins, they found an ancient temple on a bluff overlooking the ocean. As they moved in to investigate it, they were attacked by skeletons. Inside the sanctuary of the temple, they came across another group of skeletons led by a pair of champions. The skeletons beat back the adventurers, who fled back to the ship to recover. The next day, they returned and managed to finish off the skeletons, looting what valuables they could find. Before they left, Polug left a sign, trying to name the point the city is built on.
They have chosen to name the island: Ruintale
