Tower of Combat - round 2
General Summary
Savin, intrigued by the idea of the Tower of Combat, put out a call to other adventurers to investigate the new arena outside of Fioritura. He waited outside the city gates, for those who join him. Necthan and Prim, noting the darkness in the sky, illuminated their path as they walked through Xiomara to the meeting place. Grud, disguised as a human also met with them, before the party took the portal from Xiomara to Fioritura.
Arriving in the predominately orc city, the party took to the roads south. Finding a campfire, the party followed it to find a wizard outside of a weather-worn tent. Upon seeing the party, he introduces himself as Madmus the Magnificent. Excited to see a new party of people ready to take on the Tower of Combat, he quickly laid out the rules, and then took the party name. Despite opposition from Prim, the group landed on the name of "Hellrazors". He noted the names of the contestants as:
"Captain Savin Senriel"
"Necthan Delenesh, Master Smith"
"Prim Sure"
"Grud Gala-vadok"
Stepping into the arena, the party took their positions before the fight started. First creature they encountered was the bane of the last party, a Peri. Though a resilient foe, the party was ready to jump onto the fight. Though it had quick reflexes, it was not fast enough to dodge the attacks that came at it, slaying it before they were able to fight.
After a brief pause, the circle in the center began to glow again, bringing forth a large frog-like creature. Before even being able to idenify it, the creature was dispatched with precision from the fighters in the arena.
The circle glowed, but a new type of threat emerged. An undead creature came, and before the party was able to react, possessed Savin. With no way to separate the undead from Savin, Grud lead the charge in taking Savin out of the fight. Savin then was teleported to a viewing area, able to watch the fight. Once he had been defeated, the creature reappeared, and quickly jumped into the body of Necthan, once again turning a member of the party against his friends. Necthan charged Grud, but Grud was able to drop his would-be challenger. The creature appeared again, trying to take control of Grud, but his strength of will fought off the possession of the creature. Now exposed, it was easily destroyed by Grud. The announcer, Madmus did inform the party they were now down two members, and were welcome to retired but Grud had decided to press on.
After some quick healing from Prim, the teleportation circle glowed again, this time a devil, wrapped in horns wielding a chain, appeared in front of the group. Unleashing a volley of attacks at Grud, he countered at every point. Though the creature was able to inflict major wounds on Grud, it was not enough to overcome the ferocious orc. After the devil fell, Prim and Grud decided this was their stopping point, stepped out of the arena and were teleported to the starting area.
Madmus congradulated them on a job well done, providing them with the gold of their conquest and left an open invitation to rejoin him again if they wish another fight.
All of the party went their separate ways, Prim visited the Magic Valley and experiencing where it had moved to before heading home.
