Week of Waukeen - International Trade Festival: Tetrodora

General Summary

Cursed by the goddess he serves for failing to live up to her standards, Alik seeks to establish a Pandora wide trade festival, in order to return to her good graces. He decided to start with the one kingdom within Pandora solely focused on trade: The Merchant Republic of Tetrodora.   Alik gathered his friends Bombo, Nightfall, and Khalid (who remained disguised as the Gnome, Pax, throughout their time together) to travel with him in hopes that they would be able to advise him in his pursuits, and perhaps aid him in persuading Tetrodora to accept his proposal.   After arriving in Traders Cusp, the party decided to sit down for a meal at a local inn, giving Alik a chance to present, in detail, his plans for an international trade festival. Between ideas, questions, ale, and a slightly terrified waitress who overheard the words "send bombs through the mail," Alik was able to fine tune his plans.   Once Alik felt comfortable enough to move forward, he asked Khalid about getting an audience with the council. It was suggested to start with Bradfort Holt, the Treasurer. Khalid led the party to Bradfort's office and asked the secretary for a meeting. They were immediately turned away as the secretary assured them that "Mr. Bradfort is terribly busy and can't be bothered at the moment." Khalid decided to bring the secretary's attention to Bombo, the King of Fjordhaven, present in their party but she was unswayed. Flustered, Khalid turned to Alik, who stepped forward to mention that they were here to discuss a way to bring wealth and prosperity into Tetrodora. At the mention of gold, the door to Bradfort's office opened and he invited Alik inside.   A lively discussion of "profit margins," "quality control," and "gross sales" commenced. Bradfort was strict in his requirements but agreed to host the international trade festival in Trader's Cusp. The follower terms were agreed upon: 1. The name of the festival would be "Week of Waukeen," to ensure that Alik was able to show his loyalty to his goddess. 2. Absolutely no military presence of any kind as one of the core tenets of Tetrodora is to "avoid war at all costs." 3. Each kingdom will be afforded their own sectioned off area, or "district", of the festival where their own laws and policies regarding trade can be upheld with the exception that Tetrodora laws regarding war, theft, and trade standards will supersede any other kingdom laws. 4. Tetrodora has jurisdiction throughout the entire festival and the festival will be guarded and overseen by Tetrodoran guards to ensure that Tetrodora laws are upheld in each kingdom's “district” and that no theft of any kind occurs. Theft is punishable by Tetrodora laws. 5. Before the festival is to commence, Alik will meet once more with Bradfort to inform him of which kingdoms will be attending and inform Bradfort of any other pertinent details.   Satifified with the terms, Alik and Bradfort shook on it, with Bradfort excitedly returning to his numbers to calculate the potential wealth boon Tetrodora could experience from this festival. Alik and party returned to inn to celebrate.
