A young and expanding empire.
It has closed the trade-routes around the
Benguyar Mountains, controlling all trade itself.
Four is an important number for pangols - their guiding philosophy is of the fourfold principles and fourfold archetypes.
Principles: the four basic impulses in people and the universe, arranged in opposed pairs:
- Obedience
- Initiative
- Temperance
- Passion
From these four principles they arrive at four personality archetypes they believe all people fall into:
- Devotion: passion, obedience
- Order: obedience, temperance
- Action: passion, initiative
- Precaution: temperance, initiative
which can be structured in the below chart:
|
Temperance |
Passion |
Obedience |
Order |

Precaution |

Highly expansionistic, xenophobic, opposed to infusion of Pangolins, very controlling and regimented. Indoctrinate then slowly replace conquered peoples, who are essentially (sometimes explicitly) slaves.
Piercing scales with golden rings is a common fashion choice. Adjunct is a common title. Castigators are inquisitor-like enforcers that "peacekeep/stabilise" formerly-rebellious areas after the military get involved.
The empire Contains:
- Emshol
- Teytonol (formerly)
- Pangol homeland
- Hoostholong, or festerlands: meat, disease, komodo-centaurs.
- Seeltiom
- Conovessi and the Sarom Morass, formerly in Chaneritt.
