Tharm

The heart of the Commonwealth of Reld, Tharm is a land infused with the essence of ants, causing great swathes of the land to exist in miniature.   Tharmites, the centimetre-to-inch tall ant-infused locals, are industrious. they use human-sized mechs called war-chassis. Tharmites can subsume their individuality for a short period of time to act as a single hive-mind – used for manufacturing and to pilot war-chassis (with large crews working pulleys and the like - no gears or cogs).   Tharmite Mechanics should evolve considerably over the 800 or so years of its history.   Tharm has long had a connection to Omboluc lagoon, with friendly relations and mutually beneficial trade.   Questions
  • How does collective-working interact with their concepts of individuality?

Geography

Tharm possesses a variety of ecosystems, including wetlands, forests, farms and grasslands. it is mostly marked by its flatness, lacking any notable hills or uplands. in addition, the mite infusion in many areas has miniaturised everything from flora and fauna to landforms themselves, creating a strange mixed-scale ecosystem.   Tharm is rich in many different mineral deposits, and mines dot the landscape in many locations to extract metals - though with the securing of the Molomet jungle, Tharm's importance as a source of metal has diminished.   specific locations:
  • The Commonwealth capital, where the delegates live, meet, and make laws and decisions. designed to accommodate people of every size, shape, and composition, it is a strange conglomeration of ramps, avenues, arches, spires, and elevated pathways built from the local yellow-cream banded sandstone.
