Reld

a broad expanse of land bordered by the Isthmus, Nidari Reach, Benguyar Mountains, Pangol Empire and Bindkelp Sea. united by the Reld languages and Reldan pan-ethnicity, but not much else. the Commonwealth of Reld wants to unite this area. Broadly divided into 3 regions:

Western Peninsula: separated by a spur of the Benguyars, this peninsula is home to the core of the Commonwealth of Reld.
Central region: separated from the east by the difficulty of crossing the Molomet jungle, this region also includes Felletoum and Sarlim.
Eastern region: partially under the control of the Pangol Empire, this region includes Teytonol, Emshol, and Seeltiom.

The Isthmus, though also Reld-speaking, is generally considered separately due to linguistic and cultural differences. Questions:

what is the history of Gyrism in the area? what was the pre-existing religion (with the monks with status-indicating ear-piercings?)? was that a competing form of Gyrism, a three-roles faith, or something else? how widespread was it - western peninsula or broader? why is it no longer around?
what differentiates Reld and Isthmus?
