High Council

The High Council is made up of fourteen very literal representatives of each major domain. These council members give up their individual identity to represent the domain in as fundamental a form they can manage. They don't live as people but instead as pure extensions of the gods that fit in their domains.   The council meets every day to discuss and plan and ultimately make decisions for Fourteen's Seat and ultimately all of Pantheon. But it would be a mistake to think they are debating. Each council member, at least in theory, strives not to have an individual agenda. Instead they try to make sure the essence of their domain is represented in the council's decision. Domains themselves can be contradictory, as one death deity may despise another. At the same time there are domains that may seem to be opposite and opposed such as death and life or trickery and order. But they do not view each other as opponents to crush but an important element that gives context to the value of their own domain.   This process is really not understood by the general public and it is most likely that more practical policy decisions are handled less abstractly. But the symbolism of the high council is important to the structure of Pantheon's belief system and thus it remains.   For information on each individual major domain, see The Domain Pillars
