Simon Beltihr

Born to a modest family, Simon (name pending) spent most of his childhood torn between two parents with opposing ideologies.   His father was a patient devoted cleric who praised the human's deity, The Keeper of the Eternal Sun. He tried to bring up Simon to respect the natural rule of law, and understand the essence of time. Simon's mother however was a practicing sorcerer, known for her quick wit, accompanied with a quick temper.   Friend's and family of the couple would often joke that they were 'too different' from one another, and yet, they balanced another out effortlessly. Overtime they would instill into Simon each of their own virtues, such as his fathers compassion, and his mother's resolve.   His parent's got by with the support of his father's work, and his mother helped protect traders traveling the roads, as magic users were in high demand. Simon's father would often take him to the town's stable to mingle with domesticate creatures, while his mother would secretly show him the edge of hunting grounds. His father believed that some animals were meant to be companions, while his mother believed some animals were meant to be servants. In his younger years he would often spend his time trapping mice, or pretending to "hunt" cats or dogs. This helped Simon develop an affinity, and unique perspective on creatures as he grew.   Though Simon grew up as average as they come (Not too poor, not too wealthy) on the occasion he would discover that some nights his parent's duties kept them away at night.   As such, on one fateful morning, Simon was greeted by his grieving father. His mother had not come back from a risky expedition through the Ruins during the hours of twilight. She had only taken up the dangerous task in hopes of providing for her family. Just as those who attempted before her, she did not return.   Simon would spend his late teenage years turning away from his father's teachings, and focusing more on former lessons from his now missing mother. His father grew cold and distant, until Simon decided it was finally time to leave home.   He knew it was unlikely, he was no fool - but Simon couldn't help but have an overwhelming desire to find out what happened to his mother, or at the very least, carry on with the powers he inherited from her. He would "not waste her gift," he shouted as he closed the door on his protesting father in the bright hours of the early morning.   Simon's eyes are forward on the journey ahead, as he storms off.
