Earthbending

Earthbending is focused on the connection to solid earth. It provides the ability to manipulate earth and rock in various ways, making them formidable opponents in both offense and defense. Many earthbenders have a sense of standing their ground, becoming unmovable and stubborn, like a rock. One philosophy is to remain patient, waiting for their opponent to attack and striking at the most opportune moment. They become attuned to the vibrations and energies of the earth, enabling them to sense movements and disturbances in the ground.   Its moveset requires material, similar to Waterbending with water. Unlike waterbending, it has a generally higher average damage, although this is at the cost of more stamina, most notably in bonus actions and reactions. Consider spending a few level up points in stamina so that you can make your presence in battle last longer.   Spring is the season for earth. Many earthbending festivities are celebrated during this season.
 

Level 1

At level 1, you have access to the basic earthbender moveset.   You can bend up to 5 feet of earth and rock with ease. Bending this amount of rock using an action, without intent for damage, does not consume stamina. Bonus actions cost 1 stamina and are limited to up to 5 feet of rock.   Using an action with intent for damage costs stamina. If you wish to bend more than 5 feet of rock, you must roll a DC check. The DC is dependent on how much rock you wish to bend.

  In addition, you may choose to upgrade each action with specific buffs. Each upgrade will cost a certain amount of stamina. You cannot upgrade bonus actions. You also cannot upgrade multiple of the same effect (unless specified otherwise).

Level 2

At level 2, you now can handle earth and rocks up to 10 feet. You also have access to sub-bending proficiencies.    

Sub-bending Proficiencies

Choose one of the following earthbender sub-bending proficiencies:  

Metalbending

You can now bend metal as if it were rock. Using metal during your attacking moves increases your roll to hit by +1. This costs 1 stamina.

Sandbending/Dustbending

You can now bend sand and dust without issue. You can use your bonus action to pulverize rock into sand/dust (DC still applies). Dust clouds can limit vision range and can partially blind opponents temporarily. This costs 1 stamina.
   

Lavabending

You can convert earth into lava and vice-versa using a Bonus Action (DC still applies). Any creature that makes contact with the lava receives d6 fire damage once per turn while they are still touching the source. Lava can ignite flammable objects. This costs 2 stamina

Seismic Sense

You can use a bonus action to sense any number of enemies that are touching the same ground as you, up to 50 feet away. This can also be used to sense the heart rate of one target creature. You must be grounded.

  At level 2, you get access to new upgrades for your actions. Additionally, some effects can now be used more than once in a single action.

Level 3

At level 3, you now can handle earth and rocks up to 20 feet. Your earthbending range is now increased by 5 feet. Your commitment to earthbending also gives you stat bonuses for earthbending moves.    

Stat Buffs

Obtain the following buffs:
  • Increase roll to hit by +1 for earthbending moves
  • Increase damage roll by +2 dmg for earthbending moves
  • Gain 2 earthbender sub-bending proficiencies instead of just 1
  •

    Level 4

    At level 4, you now can handle earth and rocks up to 30 feet. Your dedication to the arts also gives you more stat bonuses.

    Replace your level 3 buffs with the following:
  • Increase roll to hit by +2 for earthbending moves
  • Increase damage roll by +5 dmg for earthbending moves
  • Gain 3 earthbender sub-bending proficiencies instead of just 1
  •
