Creating Your Character's Build

Welcome fellow player! Take your first steps into creating a character, fit to be a knight-in-training. Here's a quick guide on how to get started and what details you would need to sort out. As a general rule of thumb, think of the type of playstyle that you wish to play or the type of personality and background that you want to roleplay. If you need a grasp of how the world is built and how you can add to it (if you wish), feel free to check Marley's Encyclopedia.   It's encouraged to read through the primer before brainstorming your character. There might be certain mechanical features or world building materials that you may find interesting.   Please read through the whole step-by-step process before creating your character.

Level

All players start at Level 4.   To put Level 4 into perspective, this makes each player equivalent to the top 2000 strongest people in this world. This does not mean your character has to be experienced. They can have lots of potential but be considered untrained.

Ability Stats

For each stat, roll 4d6. Drop the lowest roll, then add the rest.   If you do not have a stat that is 8 or below, choose a stat that will become 8.   If you do not have a stat that is 17 or above, choose a stat that will become 17.

    Classes

Being level 4, your character has 4 levels to spend on any of the bending and martial classes. You may multiclass into as many classes as you would like. In this universe, the likelihood of a multibender is not rare (about 1 out of 5 people can multibend 2 elements).

    Bending All 4 Elements

Please contact your DM if you wish to use the 4 levels into the 4 elements.   While multibenders are not rare, being able to bend all 4 elements is rare in canon and would merit its own special ability (only about 10 people in history are known to have this ability).
Multiclassing may provide your character with more flexibility and potential for more unique signature feats (discussed in the next section). Keep in mind that spending a level on a class is the equivalent to dedicating a part of your life to training that skillset, meaning that dedicating to a single class naturally gives you better abilities and buffs for that class.   Assess whether your character would wish to be more flexible or specialized.

    Feats

Each player will have access to two basic feats and one signature feat. To summarize, basic feats are public feats that anyone has access to, while signature feats are homebrewed by the player to specifically cater to their character and their playstyle.
