Journey to Paradise
In the following log records, we delve into parts of my adventures that led to the awakening of Paradise, a pivotal event that reshaped the very harmony of our world. In my adventures, I journeyed across Lake Blue, pushing through the darkness of Shadow Spirits. I made use of my invention called the Aether Tracker, which is essentially a piece of diamond crystal that is naturally attracted to large amounts of Aether. Using the tracker, I searched for high concentrations of Aether in hopes of finding Paradise. These are the reports of my journey and how fate connected me and a little girl together, to change the world forever.
am currently was sitting several feet apart from her. Now she is watching me write my logs. I do not think she understands my writing. Don't worry girl. I do not think I would either, in a few years.
She laughed at my laughter.
I lost my tracker in the crash, most likely lost to the salty waters. The chances of finding another diamond of that magnitude are almost none. I want to cry. I can not cry though, not with her looking at me this closely. Currently, she is right beside me. I do not think she is a threat[...]

I think she is sleeping.

Log Entry 1: Beginnings
Today marks the beginning of my journey. I set out to explore the world and seek Paradise alone. I figure this is the best course of action. The proposal period for the Order of the Knights has been postponed indefinitely. I shall take matters into my own hands[...] Many told me that this journey would be a waste of time and talent, that there is nothing to be gained out there in this dangerous world. I disagree. The reality is nothing can change as we sit around doing nothing. Our kingdom is growing, but it can only grow so much. What if the Shadow Spirits come for us? What would we do then? Let's think long-term[...] [...] [...]Paradise seems to hold the key to their defeat.Log Entry 12: Defeating Shadow Spirits
[...]My travels have been filled with much danger and triumph. I have lost count of the numerous Shadow Spirits I have faced, quite uncharacteristic of me. Their malevolent presence threatens to engulf our world in darkness. This forest is madness! This whole encounter reminds me of why I am here. I am here to save Verdantia from eventual ruin. Paradise is the key[...]Log Entry 19: Other People
Do you know what I found amidst the chaos of the forest? A spear!!! How interesting. A spear, made of sturdy wood and a metal tip, this far from the forest can only mean one thing: other people have been here before. Looking at the spear, it dates not too long ago, and could not have been a year old. I knew it! Someone else has been here. Perhaps another crazy person like me, but this leads me to believe that other settlements are out there, besides Verdantia. I mean of course there is. We are not the center of the world. However, this begs me to wonder where they may be. Maybe they have already passed away, unable to survive the onslaught of the forest. I wish to be optimistic. I am sure they have found a way to survive here. Or maybe they have passed it, sensing its danger[...]Log Entry 39: A Sign
I found something! At long last!!! I could not believe my eyes, almost thinking I had gone insane after the endless attacks from the forest. It is as if everything around me is trying to kill me, a disturbance in the natural harmony of this world. The crystal senses something strong, over the horizon across this vast body of salty water, a concentration of Aether so strong that the tracker feels it, past what the eye can see. Exciting! I must reach over there to find this source. I would need to stock up on food. Maybe I can use the wood from the forest to carry me across the ocean. I need to think this through[...]Log Entry 71: A Fateful Encounter
I wish I had thought this vessel journey more through. My vessel was barely holding together through the storm. The attacks from the Shadow Spirits really damaged it beyond repair. I need to remind myself to remain more patient next time. Anyways, for the important discovery: a beastling girl, with long silver hair and a silver tail. She does not look any older than 10 years. She gave me quite the fright, discovering me face planted onto the sand, looking at me with these big fox ears, twitching at my every movement[...] [...] [...]When I tried conversing with her, she did not seem to understand my language. She tried conversing back and I did not understand her. Another society is out there! Just as I predicted. It explains why she speaks a different tongue. I just wish she took me to her hometown. I am getting ahead of myself. She saved me from starvation and I only hope that my thanks were heard. It is currently night. She watched me as I made a fire for us both. She is not less than primitive at least, understanding the importance of fire. ILog Entry 72: Companion
She refuses to take me to her hometown. Not only that, she refuses to leave my side. She does not seem to mind my traveling, and of course, I want to know more about her. What other civilizations could be out there? Where did she come from? I better get used to her breathing down my neck as I write these logs. She seems fascinated by my writing. I am sure she has her own form of writing, though she has not shown it to me yet[...] [...] I think we have established our names at the very least. To her, I am Marley. To me, she is Nenwa. A fascinating name! I think right now we are forming a mutual bond[...]Thinking back, I am sure Nenwa may be a translation for something else. Unfortunately, even now, I am not familiar with the language she spoke. That surge of Aether that I detected days back is likely to be from this island. Tomorrow, I am going to search this island dry! The girl sleeps beside me again. It's nice to not be alone for once.
