Description
Everywhere around the world, there exist spirits that manifest for varying reasons. In essence, spirits are ethereal entities that are believed to be composed of
Aether,
a manifestation of Aether. They shine with a small glow and appear slightly transparent. These mystical beings possess a deep connection to our world. They also
possess sentient consciousness and unique personalities, exhibiting emotions, thoughts, and individual motivations. Many have encountered spirits with different interpretations of their existence and purpose. Some spirits are viewed highly while others are viewed in fear.
Abilities
With its connection to
Aether,
spirits can bend the elements, similar to other living creatures. They appear to have a much deeper understanding of the applications of
Aether, as they
possess unique abilities that other creatures have not replicated. Many spirits obtain only one elemental affinity. However, some have reported spirits that have two or more elemental affinities. This elemental connection influences their appearance and their abilities.
Purpose
While the interpretation of each spirit varies, there is one major similarity:
the spirits practice guardianship. They play a vital role as guardians of this world, whether for better or for worse. Their target to protect may be a creature/s, a monument, a realm, an item, or anything that the spirits decide to guard. They may serve as companions, offering protection, guidance, or assistance in times of need. Likewise, they may also attack and provoke whenever they see fit. There are
reports of spirits disappearing once they find their purpose served or ruined.
Shadow Spirits
All realms of the world have encountered shadow spirits, the very thing that made the world dangerous before the awakening of Paradise. While the quantity of shadow spirits has decreased lately, their presence still persists,
killing anyone who dares trespass on their unforgivingly large territories. Their life’s purpose has given us all the unfortunate consequence of forcing distance among each other, having travel be too dangerous for most to consider.
