In the vast tapestry of our world where civilizations are separated by the dangers that persisted before the awakening of Paradise, no matter how you look at it, there exists the truth that we are interconnected. Many of our cultures have a lot in common. We find far too many similarities to call it coincidence. I wish to unravel these similarities that bind us together, beyond boundaries. With this said, here are some discoveries that I am confident to present:
Paradise
This is clear to many who travel through different cultures. No matter where you are, we all have our interpretations of Paradise and what it could bring to our world. These interpretations have varied but most cultures have described Paradise under one important characteristic:
Paradise has the power to change the world, and it has changed the world 10 years ago. Thus, many wish to seek and obtain it, though there are still many mysteries in regards to its nature that are left unanswered for the time being. If you wish for more insight into this phenomenon, please refer to my
Guide to Paradise.
Paths of Enlightenment
Our civilizations have survived through the harsh dangers of the world and I believe this is because
our cultures follow certain paths and philosophies to quickly grow strong and resilient. I have called this phenomenon the
Paths of Enlightenment: the Path to Self-Mastery, the Path to Interconnected Bonds and the Path to Natural Harmony. These paths provide us with the strength for survival and evolution. No matter where you come from, manifestations of the paths are reported. They are what form this world into what it is today.
Lost History and Origins
Much of our ancestors' pasts centuries ago were lost to time. Very few cultures can explain how their civilizations came to be a few hundred years ago, and even then, some people in these cultures challenge this knowledge. Many rumors and theories have attempted to explain why this is the case for so many people around the world. Unfortunately, I do not have a theory that I am satisfied with.
Protection Against External Forces
For a civilization to survive before the awakening of Paradise,
it must be equipped to handle dangerous beasts and spirits that challenge its existence. Many choose to form groups, for there is strength in numbers. There have been many similarities of civilizations using the provided geography to their advantage. Mastery of the elements is also encouraged by the people. Any winning edge for survival is welcome.
Seasons
We all experience the four seasons of the year:
winter, spring, summer and autumn. It is through these seasons that one may find strength and weakness in. The elements grow stronger and weaker depending on the season. Due to this, many cultures celebrate certain festivities during the season in which their common element is strongest. Likewise, opposite seasons demand extra care and advanced planning.
Language
The awakening of Paradise has sparked a common language called Paravox. Paravox is the language Paradise has bestowed upon us and in which we can now all speak. Based on observation, when Paradise awakened,
everyone was given the ability to translate their current language into Paravox. This has enabled us to communicate among each other in common tongue and is another proof of Paradise's influence in our world. It seems that not all ideas are easily translatable into Paravox and are thus kept untranslated.
Currency and Trade
While every culture values certain materials differently, there are certain materials that find themselves valuable no matter where you go. The most common material for commerce are precious crystals that hold amounts of Aether:
quartzes, gemstones and diamonds. Many individuals either make use of the crystals' Aether reserves or use the crystals for trade. These crystals prove useful when trading to other civilizations, since many acknowledge their value. The common folk usually trade in quartz and gemstones, while only the rich can deal in diamonds.
