Consecration of the Temple of Pelor in Stonebridge
The hallow effect in this temple is tied to the main altar stone and the stained glass mountain.
The Identify spell revealed:
The altar and stained glass image were originally consecrated by the The Order of the Sacred Crystal in the service of Pelor. The consecration of the temple has the following effects so long as it remains standing:
- It prevents Celestials, Elementals, fey, Fiends, and Undead from entering the temple, and prevents them from charming, frightening, or possessing those within.
- Daylight striking the temple is amplified within to full daylight (with no glare) regardless of exterior conditions. Relatedly, the temple remains a comfortable temperature regardless of outside conditions while exposed to daylight.
Clerics and paladins faithful to Pelor have access to some additional effects placed by the Order:
- Within the temple, paladins have access to Divine Sense without needing to expend their uses of it or use an action - it is considered to always be active while inside the temple. When leaving the temple, this effect remains active as long as the paladin remains within 60' of the temple walls.
- The temple restores a paladin's expended uses of Divine Sense and Lay on Hands on a short rest, if the paladin spends the short rest in prayer.
- When a paladin hits with a melee attack within 60' the temple's walls, the paladin may smite as though they expended a 1st level spell slot without having to expend a spell slot.
- Spells cast by a Pelor cleric or paladin within 60' of the temple walls are empowered by the temple. They are effectively upcast two levels, and may have an enhanced effect even if no benefits of upcasting are listed (DM discretion).
