Session 44: Life of the Party
General Summary
Unfortunately for us, our plan of being the local corpse collectors isn’t going to pan out. There’s no crypts to crawl through, just a graveyard that’s out in the open. We weren’t expected this at all, but as we do our walk of shame, we notice posters that are inviting the elven envoy to a party held by a man named Norman. So we’ll have Julius forge us “official” invites from the king and then pluck each target off one by one. I then visit Harvey to discuss his conspiracy theory that turned out to be true. He’s horrified, but as I ask him to track the guards in black to see what’s going on, he agrees to do so in a heartbeat.
We have two days until the party and in that time, we all prepare our disguises and stories. TT gets hired on as a servant whose combat skills were needed and wanted, Amelia is now a noblewoman by the name of Rose Alupton, and I, Mingus Yogswain, make my return. The night before the party, Lothric makes his much anticipated return as well. Me, Amelia, and Inami are trying to have some alone time when we’re treated to his unholy screeching as he tosses rocks at the window until it breaks. When he can’t climb in, he settles for breaking a window downstairs and manages to wake everyone else up.
Stabby comes to the door to complain and as I open it, I get punched in the face. With that, we sleep (some of us better than others). The day of the party arrives and TT’s put to work. I’m stopped at the front door because these people don’t recognize the greatest director Mingus, but they eventually let me in to avoid looking stupid. Amelia arrives fashionably late and Inami and Stabby were already mingling with the guests. TT spots Carlisle Leslie and convinces him that his friend is in the bathroom with an important letter. Once he’s in, she follows and locks the door behind him.
He’s not able to scream for help before he’s shot to death and as she leaves, she jams the lock so nobody will find him. Me and Inami sit down and chat with Gosha and Eska. After learning that Eska is an acrobat, we go off for some alone time, in which I try to stab her during the act. Turns out she’s also a contract killer, but I manage to get the upperhand and strangle her to death with a bowstring. After getting her head, I toss her body out of the window and head back into the party. Amelia had the same line of thought to take out her target, Alabaster. They have a few drinks before sneaking off, but things don’t go smoothly for her at all because he’s a monk.
She casts “suffocate” on him and he launches her off of the bed with a kick. She quickly explains everything away as her being into BDSM and she apologizes for not asking him first. They settle back in and she tries to dominate his mind next and while it succeeds, it’s not enough to make him accept his impending death. So she does it the old fashioned way and strangles him with her bare hands. Inami and Stabby killed their targets as well, leaving only one woman standing in the courtyard nervously. She doesn’t know where her friends are, so TT locks her in here and we all ambush her. All heads are collected and delivered to the king on a silver platter…literally.
We’re rewarded with the rakshasa eyes and I make the decision to leave Tanner in Isvoth’s care. With that, I fetch Harvey after offering him a spot in our crew, and Julius teleports us back to the ship. We turn the eyes over to Myrtle and she breaks our magic binds to her. After she eats one of them, the rest of us make our leave so Amelia can speak with her in private. They smoke a bowl together and shoot the shit, Myrtle admitting that she was going to use the second eye to turn Amelia into a full-blooded hag. That’s not necessary now as Amelia is happy to work with her, so long as she doesn’t have to look like them at any point in time. Come morning, we begin our trip back to the elven owned island of Sakatu.
