Junori (June-or-ee)
The Lady of Infinite Wonders
Also known as the Starweaver, the Opalescent Dreamer, and the Celestial Blossom.
The supreme goddess of the Basillian pantheon and a good friend of Cato. The Painted World is an afterlife plane that she resides in. Despite being heavily associated with artists and performers nowadays, Junori is also associated with the cycle of life and death. Catfolk believe that their souls will be welcomed onto her plane after death to become new stars. Shooting stars are said to be a new soul entering the world. The only shooting star this doesn't apply to is her archangel, Yoshi.
Junori's tail is considered an artifact despite it still being attached to her body. It's a magic paintbrush that can bring anything into existence so long as the artist has the will to handle such power. She appears as a tall, periwinkle catfolk with golden freckles that scatter her entire body. Her eyes are golden as well, with a turquoise rim around her pupils. Her hair is long, wavy hair is dark indigo in color though her bangs are stark white. Any fur on her body is violet, though her tail has an indigo tip.
She adorns herself in gold jewelry, the most notable being her tiara that's decorated with sapphires and diamonds. She dresses in a traditional, ancient hanfu dress. It's pale pink with pastel yellow trims and a delicate floral motif on the sleeves. The body of the dress glimmers like the night sky when the light catches it just right.

The Night of Whispers is a holiday that encourages participants to express their innermost thoughts. It's held at the end of spring and is four days long. Participants share their secrets, dreams, and their struggles by writing them down on a slip of paper. Over the four days, participants leave their secrets as offerings on shrines of Junori. Some participants choose to burn their papers, which is still accepted as an offering.
As reflection is a major aspect of the Night of Whispers, quiet areas are created to encourage meditation. Journals are provided for individuals to freely write their thoughts, whether they be positive or negative. These spaces are decorated with candles and lotus petals, as well as comfortable seating. Small symbols of Junori are carved from gemstones or made from paper using origami.
On the final night of the holiday, participants release floral wreaths into the ocean. Each wreath carries several slips of paper with messages for the departed. Some tell the story of a fond memory, others are regrets for words left unsaid.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Junori is the overseer of the Painted World, which is an afterlife plane that the majority of catfolk go to upon their death. Much of her time is spent ferrying souls into her realm, which can be paradise or a nightmare depending on a soul's level of corruption. While she is a goddess of neutrality, she dislikes overt acts of evil. Such wickedness ruins an otherwise beautiful picture of the mortal world below her.
Her main goal is to maintain the cycle of life and death, but she also upholds the delicate balance between good and evil. Despite her roles, Junori doesn't frown upon necromancy. Her faith encourages followers to embrace the unknown and life's unpredictability, no matter the form it arrives in. Necromancy is commonly used as a tool to aid with ancestor worship. Using it for personal gain or power, or to bring harm upon others is considered a sin in her eyes.
