Sally Sells

A particularly conniving chuul and a her gang once happened upon a crew of illithids raiding brains in their neighborhood. While the mind flayers were spread thin, feeding upon a seemingly helpless town, the gang killed the crew left on the ship and took off.

After a challenging learning curve, the Back-Alley Sallies used the ship to become an effective space-pirate gang. They renamed the ship "Sally Sells." The illithid nautiloid is much more powerful than the common pirate vessel. This makes these pirates dangerous, but also overconfident.

Captain Sa-Li the Chuul maintains the loyalty of the nautiloid by providing it with ample brains and a promise to revert it to its illithid form at a future date. As a result, the captain always takes prisoners. Such prisoners do not last long.
