The haunted house

Body: We set off to visit the town merchant about his notice on the bulletin board about noises in his house. he revealed that he wanted to sell his house but could not because they were mysterious noises and happenings in his house. He could not give any more information than that so we headed out to the edge of town to his large house. He had lost the key to his cellar so we went in through the front door where we were immediately greeted by a disembodied voice telling us to get out. After poking around for a few minutes a vaguely ghost like figure appeared in front of us and was quickly dispatched by a flour attack from Thermidor. We searched the house and other than everything being impeccably clean nothing else was out of the ordinary. We finally found the key to the cellar underneath a rug. using that key we opened the basement and avoided one of the merchant's traps. While investigating the basement we saw two kobolds dart through a solid wall and followed them into a cave. Eventually we encountered a group of kobolds who revealed that they were behind the ghostly happenings. After talking to them we found out that they simply wanted to live in the house as they had a dispute with their clan and could not go back. We convinced the merchant to sell them the house in exchange for them working in the town mines. The reward from the merchant was 400 gold which we immediately reinvested into upgrading the market along with money in our pockets and a little bit from the town coffers.
