Though considered old, they are not feeble. They possess several decades of dignitic experiences that makes their units' exert more force damage than other units.

These soldiers are not expected to fight by the queen's side. Rather, their armour casts a holographic illusion over their normally bright and colourful bodies to appear stark white with blue eyes.

They are paper tigers.
Because the queens are so much more powerful than a regular laplwyd, they would factor very little in a direct combat situation.

In this way, their biggest impact is during political negotiations. The apparent repeating individual, mute and stone-still, creates an intimidating facade that unbalances opponents and rivals to the queen(s) ; without actually exerting aggressive force.

There are no young recruits to the guard. Initiates are experienced soldiers from other military units and garrison who just a couple of year until their retirement. No prior distinction is necessary either: only loyalty.

The palace guard have been under the purview of Queen Cerise for its entire existence. Only recently, with the immortal queen moving her residence to the Mandelbrotian Mountains, would the guard be under the auspices of her protégé in the future.
