488 ADVENTURE: Lost in the High Forest
Rescue of Sir Thom son of Mikael
Silus IV was at his Dragon Keep when he was contacted by his servant that there was a beggar at the door asking to talk to him. He talks to the beggar, who turned out to be a Carter from Vagon who had been taken captive over a month ago, but he had escaped. He carried a small torn dirty piece of cloth that look to be part of a Tabbert with the house colors. He told Silus that it was Sir Thom's and he had been captured and made a slave in a mine. That it was surrounded by Pict barbarians and the Devil himself was there to oversee work in the mine. He was changed to a talking tree digging every inch of hard rock in an endless pit. Sir Silus has the man cleaned and gives him a bed to sleep in. Food to eat and a good night sleep.
He immediately sends off a dispatch to his fell knights of Salisbury request their aid in find the lost knight of Tisbury
within two days they (the three knights: Sir Cernunnos Sir Nuke of Laverstock Silus IV ) Are traveling north to the forest with the Joseph the Carter. Joeseph get very nervous when they reach the spot where he left the forest. trembling in fear he shows them the spot, or the spot that he thought he came out of. He had made a rest spot in the field beyond the forest. He assured them that he had torn a piece of his shirt and tied it off.
The party moves into the forest, talking and laughing at the crazy story that Joseph Carter told. Sir Silus leads the way, with Sir Nuke in the middle and Sir Cernunnos bring up the rear. They walk quietly through the forest watching ahead and to the sides of a trail. The same trail that seems to be there when they got close to the edge of the forest. Sir Silus hears a noise to his left and he stops. He asks the others did they hear anything. No one responds. He turns to get a response and he is by himself in the woods. Close by Sir Nuke moves forward looking down at his feet and glancing up only occasionally to check the woods around. He was thinking about his upcoming wedding. Suddenly he heard a noise in the woods to the left and he stopped. He scanned the area to his left and noticed that Sir Silus was not on the path ahead. he looked behind for Sir Cernunnos and found himself alone in the dark dense forest. Sir Cernunnos had only glanced back for a moment to watch the trail behind the group, turn to the front, he found no one. The other knights were nowhere to be found and he stopped walking, scanning ahead and listening for any sign of them. Suddenly he heard a call from Sir Nuke, who had shouted. Sir Cernunnos started forward toward the sound of the Sir Nukes voice. it was about 40 yards to his left; off the trail he was walking down. He headed directly toward the sound of his voice. Within a few minuets' the two knights were together again. Each asked the other where was Sir Silus? How did we get separated? both thought the other had wandered off the well tread path. Sir Silus looked about suspiciously he knew he did not leave the path, he looks and picked up a small rock and threw it into the trees to his left...it made no sound. He threw a stick toward the path it landed on the path...he moved back down the path from where he came. The other two knights shouted his name and called out for him. Sir Silus immediately moved toward their voices. Shortly they were together again and moving along the trail. This time closer to one another, there was talk of tying a rope between them, chaining them together. but it was only talk, they had spent several hours wandering around and begin to have doughts about this forest and this trail. The trail always looked clear, but never the same. They could walk over a section of ground and walk back 15 feet turn and walk over it again, it would be different. After a couple more hours, they stood at the top of a small hill covered in ivy and moss. rocks jetted out here and there and the canaopy overhead hung there like a thousand pounds.
As they all stood and looked for the right path, Sir Nuke felt the slight tingle of a breeze,Elven lullaby

suddenly there is a noise...
Not dead...Sir Silus slaps his face lightly...No response...NOT LIGHTLY...No Response. snores, Suddenly he opens his eyes and sits up, stretchs and jumps up. he seems to awaken then awakens with a fairy glyph for "anointed" branded into the flesh on the back of its hands. The brand causes no pain and can only be healed via magical means. Sir Nuke of Laverstock The party discovers a dead elm tree that appears ready to topple. Dozens of small, vaguely human-looking figures made of sticks hang from the tree's branches by tattered lengths of twine. A banshee and ldlO zombies, all with ragged nooses tied around their necks, emerge from behind the tree and attack. Sir Nuke of Laverstock Sir Cernunnos Silus IV The trail you've been following enters the High forest through an ornate archway carved directly into the huge wood of an immense tree trunk. As you pass through the arch and into the forest, you hear the buzz of insects and the song of birds in the gnarled branches overhead. Little sunlight pierces the thick canopy of the trees, and gloomy shadows cover the trail before you. Emerging from a grove of trees along the trail is a white horse that shines with radiant beauty. A silver-colored horn protrudes from the middle of the mare's forehead. The unicorn gazes in your direction for a moment before she springs back into the forest. The standing stones that at first appeared toppled and cracked now tower overhead. Glowing orbs of arcane energy bob gently in the sweet-smelling breeze, casting a gentle glow across the clearing. A handful of stars twinkle in the twilit sky. The unicorn paces around an altar at the center of the standing stones. This clearing is a fey crossing, or a place where the barrier between planes has weakened and creatures may pass between the Material Plane and the Feywild. A Pixie named Lolantha flutters toward the party and explains that they've stumbled into the domain of Altheda the Unicorn. Lolantha tells the party that Altheda mourns the death of her mate, Florian, who died three centuries ago at the hands of a cruel blue dragon. Lolantha asks the party to leave Altheda in peace. Out of the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of a shrub shifting its position directly into the middle of your path, as if to conceal the way to Shadowtop Cathedral. A moment later, you hear a hushed voice call out, "Did they notice us? I think they might have noticed us!" An awakened shrub named Silvia and two awakened trees named Banyan and Linden attempt to prevent hostile creatures from finding Shadowtop Cathedral by blocking the path. They are peaceful members of the Emerald Enclave, and they won't attack unless the party gives them a reason to. If the player characters demonstrate a respect for nature and peaceful intent, the awakened plants move aside and grant them entrance into Shadowtop Cathedral. Orderly rows of massive trunks rise out of the ground like pillars holding up a vaulted ceiling of leaves. Intricate paper lanterns hang from the mighty tree branches, providing warm illumination. Trickling through the cathedral like a central aisle is a shimmering brook where rainbow trout swim just below the surface of the clear water. A heartrendingly beautiful melody fills the air. The music emanates from a satyr named Greenwhistle who sits beside the brook playing his panpipes. He explains that a dryad rejected his romantic overtures, so he's composing a song to try to wm her hear. He also says Turlang has not been to the cathedral in several days and invites the party to wait with him. Suddenly, Tharra Shyndle, the NG female half-elf druid the party may have encountered earlier, rushes into the cathedral in a panic, her face streaked with blood and her garments torn. "Aerglas betrayed us!" she pants. "He defeated Turlang and now he's coming to destroy the cathedral!"
