City Wide Association Network

The CWAN is Peritons attempt at interconnectivity in the face of its rapid expansion. The creation of Trams and Airships were the first attempt to fix this problem, as Periton rapidly grew far larger than walking to a destination would permit, instead allowing individuals easy and rapid access to the various city districts. However this formed rather small communities and stifled Slosterias image of innovation and research.   Ariner Brasshelm was a Gnome assigned to oversee the CWAN project in 4650. It began as a series of servers meant to house the accumulated knowledge of Slosterian history. A connection to the server would be provided to local libraries. This connection would be created using a series of massive crystals that would copy the information using a complex interface.   However many found the system more trouble than it was worth, and Ariner was forced to go back the drawing boards. Over the years Ariner would refine the system. The massive crystals would shrink as better gems were discovered. The systems interfaces was reduced to simple buttons and many aspects were replaced with simple mechanical parts that were cheaper to produce. This would prove to be the foundation of what would later become an M-Station.   To access the CWAN an individual must first create an account at any of Periton's M-Station's. Upon doing so, an individual will have access to any information found in Periton's many libraries, access to the many forum boards created by other users and the ability to message other users directly.

M-Station

M-Stations are large public people sized machines stationed around places of interests, such as banks, libraries, government buildings, etc. that are directly connected to the CWAN.

Lapis

Relatively new, a Lapis is a mobile M-Station meant for personalized use. However, a Lapis is a costly investment, and many prefer to simply use the public M-Station's.
