Kira Giantsfury
Kira Giantsfury is a young dwarven girl born to particularly old parents living in the Redalian town of Maldonzan. Her father, Kir Giantsfury, was a mineral merchant who was well-respected in the city. Her mother, Risal, was a miner who had retired following the drying-up of the area's major deposits, becoming a cartographer.
Her father passed away due to old age shortly after her birth, while her mother was killed in a housefire in 9045 amidst a drought. Town residents speculate that Kira was out at play for the day, only to return to the ruined structure. Despite the efforts of locals to take her into their home and raise her as their own, she would regularly force her way out at night only to be recaptured the next day. For weeks, she would return to the ruins of her home where she would mourn for her mother.
A month following the fire, Kira left town along the sole road out of town, Copperwater Way. The town, concerned for her safety, mounted a days-long search for her. They found her hiding in an overturned cart belonging to her father's old mercantile business. She refused to return to the town, and was unable to be caught by the townsfolk. After regular daily check-ins, Kira appeared to be doing well for herself despite looking like a wild child. She spoke of fighting monsters and keeping her home safe. As Coppperwater Way was a fairly safe road, the townsfolk agreed to let her be and check in on her regularly to bring food and fresh water should she need it.
Friend to one of only a few other children in town, Lonnie Ashgrog, Kira regularly makes sojourns back into Maldonzan for play, food, and mischief. Despite clearly having friends, she still sees fit to live outside the town. Some residents, such as Lonnie's mother Thizakara Ashgrog, speculate that despite her bravery and desire to seek out the unknown, is afraid to leave town alone.
She is known to pelt strange folk (any non-dwarves) with pebbles from the roadside, though such travelers are rare.
